GDF Suez: signature of a global agreement on fundamental rights, social dialogue and sustainable development

Since GDF Suez is present in several sectors, the agreement was negotiated with one or two representatives from the ICEM, BWI and PSI and coordinated by Global Unions (an organization which makes the link the International Trade Union Confederation, sectoral international organizations and the TUAC, which represents unions at the OECD). With this agreement, “the signatories agree to take this a step further by agreeing a set of common principles” which will be added to those already inscribed in the group’s Ethics Charter, and “the Group expects its operations to respect” these, including in its relations with trade partners and subcontractors.  These common principles include usual international values (ILO convention, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the OECD guidelines…) to which the agreement refers.
