Gaz de France: CSR agreement for the European companies of the group

On July 2, 2008, the European trade union federations (EPSU, EMF and EMCEF) and all the national trade unions represented within Gaz de France's EWC signed, together with the management, a CSR agreement. The management of the group takes a number of commitments regarding its employees, notably regarding employment and employability, as well as regarding third parties, with a "civic commitment." The enforcement of the agreement will be followed at the level of the group and each of its companies. (Ref. 080557)

Negotiators had three months to reach an agreement (see our article No. 080411); this agreement was signed by all the trade union organizations: the three European trade union federations concerned (EPSU, EMF, EMCEF) and the national union organizations represented within the EWC (the five French organizations, the British union, the two Hungarian, the Romanian, the Dutch, the Belgian, the German and the three Italian). GDF’s management and the unions which signed the agreement reaffirm their will to promote environmental and social standards higher than compulsory by virtue of a statute or regulation.…
