Sodexo: union coordination attacks the international group caterer

The union coordination has brought in more countries since the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) launched the initiative earlier this year (see our dispatch No. 100543) since it is now composed of 8 unions from 6 different countries (France, UK, US, Colombia, Dominican Republic and Turkey), determined to obtain a global agreement on the recognition of their right to organize.  A second bargaining meeting between Sodexo and representatives from IUF (International Union of Food workers) will be held on October 8th. To maintain pressure, unions from all sides (Service Employees International Union – SEIU – for the US, CFDT-CGT for France, Unite for the UK) will gather on October 20th in Paris, in front of Sodexo’s headquarters.
