Italy: Enel signs a development and innovation protocol promoting generational replacement

On 27 November, Italy’s energy company, Enel together with the unions signed a protocol on development and innovation that includes a framework agreement on “intergenerational solidarity and employability’ including, over the next five years, assisting some 6,000 workers toward early retirement, hiring 3,000 young workers and stabilizing temporary employment contracts.

On 27 November Enel together with the unions, Filctem-CGIL, Flaei-Cisl and Uiltec-Uil signed a protocol entitled “competitiveness, the new energy landscape, innovation and sustainable development”. The protocol underlines both the sluggish upturn in industrial production, which in turn is holding back electricity consumption as well as the challenges facing Italy as it undergoes its own ‘energy transition’ and is counting on the group’s consolidating social relations so as to manage the necessary restructurings and reorganizations and is accompanied by various agreements.…
