Italy: workers from Alenia (Finmeccanica group) transferred to Atitech will benefit from a clause to safeguard employment for an indefinite period

On 28 May, following significant mobilisation, employees of Alenia Aermacchi approved the agreement, signed the previous day by trade unions, on the conditions for the transfer of their establishment to the new company Atitech. The purpose of the transfer is the establishment of a leading international aeronautical maintenance centre in the Campania region. The trade unions promoted, among other positive aspects of the agreement, a safeguard clause for “an indefinite period” which guarantees, in the case of a crisis at Atitech, the re-employment of “transferred” employees by Finmeccanica/Alenia.

The agreement – reached on 27 May between the Fim, Fiom and Uilm trade unions, the RSUs (employee representation bodies), Alenia Aermacchi and Atitech – regarding the transfer of the Alenia establishment in Capodichino to the new company Atitech Manufacturing, was approved the next day by the majority of workers concerned.…
