Cambodia: eight major fashion brands commit to maintaining their supply orders even if local salaries rise

On September 19, 2014 a press statement  released by  the IndustriAll Global Union said  that  eight brands  had written to the Cambodian Vice Premier Minister  and to the President of the  employers body, the Garment Manufacturers Association in Cambodia (GMAC) saying the were ready to factor in higher wages into their pricing. Furthermore, the brands say they also wanted to sign a sector wide agreement to seal cooperation with the unions. On September 17,  a world day demanding higher salaries for  garment workers was organized by the global unions IndustriAll and Uni global.
