Deloitte to provide climate change training to global workforce

Last month the UK-headquartered professional services group Deloitte announced the launch of a digital learning programme for its 330,000 employees on the topic of climate change. The aim of this unprecedented initiative, which is worldwide in scope and will be rolled out over the next six months, is to provide staff with training on climate change to enable them to make responsible choices both at home and at work, such as when advising Deloitte clients. The professional services giant believes that its initiative could ultimately have a positive global impact in the fight to combat the climate crisis.

In the statement announcing the programme, which Deloitte calls a “first-of-its-kind” among major global organisations, the firm says: “In order to reduce carbon emissions and mitigate the worst effects of climate change, the world needs an ecosystem of public and private actions that can help mobilize and enact collective change, which includes the business community and their employees.” The learning programme for staff has been developed in partnership with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).…
