In just one day, the ‘Portugal for Ukraine’ website collected more than 2,000 job offers from all over the country, concentrated primarily in the areas of technology, transport, the social sector, tourism and construction. The Minister of Labor, Solidarity and Social Security Ana Mendes Godinho, however, called on employers to continue posting job offers, pointing out that the Institute for Employment and Vocational Training (IEFP) has created a task force “to support people in a tailored way and manage to find ways of real integration.” The goal is to ensure the “best possible match” between the qualifications of Ukrainians arriving in Portugal, and companies’ needs. In addition, on 01 March, the government approved a simplified procedure so Ukrainian refugees arriving in Portugal can immediately obtain a social security number and a tax identification number.
