Corporate practices: Pekkaniska, large Finnish lifting company, is paying employees to improve their health

Unions view the implementation of policies aimed to significantly improve quality of life at work as a necessary requirement for a possible agreement on the extension of careers. However, even though employees’ organizations insist that it is urgent to decrease stress at work (unsecure jobs, pressure…) and to change work itself to make it more pleasant, few concrete actions have been carried out. However, there are more and more programs destined to increase employees’ capacity to manage stress with a better physical condition. In this area, Pekkaniska is a pioneer.
