Germany: the Allianz ‘Global accelerator program’ concentrates on internal retraining in IT and organization management

In 2019, the German insurer identified that it was running the risk of not having enough managers specialized in IT and organization management over a five to ten year horizon. Instead of recruiting the skills, HR teams set up a 10-month internal reskilling programme, the success of which was evidenced by the results of the first ‘2020 intake’. With the 2021 candidates in the course of being selected, Planet Labor interviewed Renate Braun, Allianz's Head of Operations & IT Capability Building and responsible for this 5-stage, 3-rotation based project.
