Corporate practices: at Globus SB-Warenhaus, the German retail group, one click is all it takes to reconcile employees’ personal interests and the company’s needs

First retail company to receive, in 2008, the "Work and Family" award from the Hertie Foundation, the German department store chain, Globus SB-Warenhaus Holding GmbH & Co. KG, received, in May 2012, the special "Family-friendly working time" award from Chancellor Angela Merkel within the framework of the national contest entitled, "Family, the key to success." Its secret lies in extremely flexible working time, a corporate culture banking on communication, and a 'homemade' software meant to take account of each employee's personal obligations and the HR needs of the group's subsidiaries.
