France: Legrand adds LGBT+ inclusion and fight against gender violence to its workplace equality policy

Legrand, the French electrical products and systems specialist, signed a new agreement on workplace equality on 22 February. The agreement, signed by all trade unions at the group (CFDT, CFE-CGC, CGT, FO) and applicable for three years, will improve training on workplace equality and introduces a procedure for reporting sexist behaviour. Existing measures are reinforced and extended to cover new topics, in the name of "inclusion of all employees".

The agreement on workplace equality signed at Legrand does more than simply renew the previous deal – it not only extends the scope of social dialogue on the topic but also signals new ambitions. While the previous agreement concerned professional equality between men and women, its successor aims to achieve “professional equality and the inclusion of all employees”, including LGBT+ people. “It is a shared ambition – we wanted inclusion to be part of the agreement without it taking precedence over equality in the workplace.…
