Germany: IG Metall publishes practical guide with measures to prevent spread of Covid-19 in the workplace

As major automobile manufacturers in Germany gear up to boost production, the country’s metalworkers’ union has published a practical and detailed 30-page guide on how to ensure protection at production sites. The guide is intended to help employee representatives and the management of many SMEs, and is presented by the union as supplementary to the catalogue of ten measures and recommendations published last week by the ministry of employment and social affairs (see article n° 11848) and an adaptation to the specific nature of the industry. Three types of measures - technical, organisational and personal - are set out.
