Great Britain: Unity union merges with the GMB giant

Yet another small traditional British trade union has decided to merge with the large general GMB union that counts more than 630,000 members. Unity sees this move as its last ditch attempt to survive in a country where the number of unions in operation reached an 18 year low in 2013 and where mergers are used as the counterweight to member disaffection.
