Switzerland: trade unions alliance calls for legislative regulations over teleworking

Adapting Switzerland’s labor legislation to accommodate the widespread use of teleworking arrangements is the stated goal of "platform"; the name of a trade union alliance* that in particular represents the services professions and counts some 88,000 members. The ‘platform’ members argue that regulating flexible working it an "urgent" matter in order for example to recognize the right to disconnect or to appropriately cover additional relevant employee expenses.

The ‘platform’ is calling for the establishment of contact periods outside of which employees would not be obliged to respond, and for the recording of working hours in order to avoid overloading employees.…
