The vote held at the end of last week at the Amazon fulfilment centre in Bessemer, to see whether its 6,000 employees wanted to join the Retail Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU), was a complete failure. Only 738 people voted in favour of joining the RWDSU, while some 1,798 voted against.
