ENI: renews its global framework agreement (GFA) with IndustriALL Global Union

On 21 June, Italy energy company ENI, the global trade union federation IndustriALL Global Union, and three Italian sector-relevant trade unions renewed their GFA. In it the company commits to developing its human rights due diligence to ensure its alignment with the UN guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and it puts greater emphasis on improving working conditions in supply chains. The GFA also included a new article on sustainable development and environmental protection and includes the principle of a ‘Just Transition’. A list of indicators has been added to the annex of the agreement to monitor the implementation of the agreement.

The initial GFA dates back to 2002 and was renewed in both 2009 and 2016 (c.f. article No. 9762 to access the previous version which implemented a global committee).

Among its departures ENI commits to offering all working fathers and mothers 10 days leave on full pay.…
