Volkswagen: part of the production due to be moved from Spain to Eastern Europe

Volkswagen's management announced that it had started to take the necessary measures to transfer part of the Polo production from its factory of Landaben, near Pampelune (Navarre) towards other factories of the group, in Eastern Europe, probably in Bratislava (Slovakia). (Réf. 06417)

The decision of the German management came as a shock in Spain, whereas all the country’s automobile sector lives with the spectrum of the dislocations. The Polo is the only model currently manufactured by the factory of Landaben, which employs 4200 employees and VW was still thinking, a little while ago, to maintain this exclusiveness.…
