EU: ETUC publishes its own model proposal for a gender equal pay directive

The European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) chose 04 November i.e. European Equal Pay Day, to present its own draft directive to "strengthen equality between women and men through equal pay". In this way the ETUC is putting the spotlight on the topic, as well as pointing out how slow the European Commission has been in terms of moving on this issue. After several postponements, and if it keeps to its revised schedule, the European Commission can be expected to present a draft directive on 15 December.
