EU: the European Commission presents its Gender Equality Strategy 2020-2025

On 05 March the European Commission presented its Gender Equality Strategy 2020-2025 that identifies major challenges in the form of persistent gender-based violence and stereotypes, gender pay equality, and gender equal representation at top-level company management. In terms of corporate board membership and gender pay equality, the EU Commission is considering European legislation that would seek to impose wage transparency and female company management board participation, and it has launched a public consultation on the issue of gender pay.
