European deputies launch the idea of a social Europol to check the respect of the workers posting directive

The German (Green) deputy Elisabeth Schroedter, submitted to the Commission on social Affairs of the European Parliament of last 4 May, its draft report on "the application of directive 96/71/EC on 'workers' posting”. The debates which followed broached the question of the directive’s revision and the creation of a European structure in charge of checking the good application of the directive. (ref. 06451)

This draft report (see our article ref. 06411) could be largely amended. For Raymond Langendries (PES, Belgium) the objectives of the report should be clarified: to call for the revision of the directive or to formulate recommendations aimed at improving its implementation.…
