Germany: wage agreement in the banking sector

After a marathon-negotiation, the trade union Ver.di and the employers concluded, during the night of 21 to 22 June, a wage agreement for the 240 000 employees of the German private and public banks . The compromise was welcomed by banks and analysts. (Réf. 06644)

The agreement will apply for 25 months. It provides for  a wage increase in two phases: by 3% as from September 2006 and then 1,5 % as from December 2007.…
