The amended proposal of the Commission on the Directive on “services” gives rise to mixed reactions

On the day following the presentation by the European Commission of the amended proposal on the Directive on "services", the reactions are on the increase. If the ETUC and of the European Members of Parliament are satisfied, the positions of the employers' organizations are more contrasted. (Ref. 06334)

Satisfied with the new proposal, the European Confederation of the trade unions (ETUC) mentions its appreciation of the Commission efforts to take into account the essential orientations of the compromise reached by the European Parliament on the Directive on “Services”. The ETUC had already required the Commission  “not to backtrack and to accept the Parliament’s compromise, a support for a fast adoption of the Directive on “services”…
