Germany: the population no longer trusts unemployment insurance and pension plans

According to a survey published on 11April 2006 by the magazine Stern, 73 % of German employees and workers would leave the mandatory modes of retirement insurance and unemployment insurance if they had the possibility. A few days before, the Bundestag adopted a law aimed at preventing a decrease in the amount of pensions on 1 July 2006. (Réf. 06366)

According to this survey carried out by the Forsa institute, 68% of people believe the public insurance-retirement system is no longer “relevant”, nor “judicious”. An opinion shared by 75% of young people between 18 and 29. And one German out of two also thinks the unemployment insurance “is outdated”.…
