Germany: national chemical sector digitalization training project launched

On 01 October representatives of the social partners in the Chemicals sector and the Federal Employment Agency signed a letter of intent to set up a joint training project that is specifically designed to train employees whose jobs are threatened in whole or in part by the digitalization of the economy. This is the first such collaboration on this subject and on this scale. Three pilot regions have been selected for a test phase that will start in December 2020 and will involve the implementation of software able to gauge the impact of digitalization on the various job types.
