Great Britain: CIPD publishes an employers guide for the Covid-19 vaccination

On 15 February 2021 the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), the leading professional association for human resource management professionals, published a guide for employers that are seeking to encourage employees take up their vaccination offers. It also addresses some initial questions over employers’ occupational health and safety responsibilities once the Covid-19 vaccination campaign has had widespread rollout, and addresses preparations for a generalized return to work.

The UK’s Department of Health has structured a three-part vaccination plan. Priority groups are being targeted in the ongoing first phase. Starting in mid-April the second phase is due to get underway and will target other priority groups including the over 50s, over 60s and vulnerable youths. The third and final phase is due to roll out in the autumn and will see all other adults being offered the Covid-19 vaccine at that stage.
