Spain : law on gender equality gets a shy welcome

The Spanish government rushed to release its draft law on gender equality, because it wanted to communicate on its contents on women’s day (8 March 2006). But the government’s bill was very criticized. The employers’ confederation CEOE came out of its silence to write “one of the most bitter press releases in its history” according to the conservative daily ABC. The CEOE writes that this draft law is a “deadly shot for social dialogue”.…
